Auto Express triples 'm
It took a while, but here's finally the triple test we've all been waiting for...
But hey: what is the final judgement?
It took a while, but here's finally the triple test we've all been waiting for...
Not one, but six new video's of the Lexus IS-F! - they are all short spots.
Which one is your favorite?
Exclusive footage of F1-driver Timo Glock testdriving Lexus IS-F on the track. Pretty impressive.
I owed you guys this one...

For all of you who'd love to race a Lexus IS-F but cannot afford to buy one and trash it at whichever track, there's terrific news. It's called GT5 (for Gran Turismo 5) and is a Sony racegame that is about to rule the virtual world. The Prologue (demo) -version is out yet and shows it allows plenty of sliding.
What a pity just 150 Lexuses IS-F are bound for the UK. I'm sure they could sell a lot more, as the first responses to the car are overwhelmingly positive.
Top Gear's Tom Ford writes: "I love it. I constantly think what it would be like to live with this car for a couple of years, how successful it would be as my day-to-dayer. It's mega fast and terribly exciting when you make that V8 reach upwards. Now I just have to work out how to afford it..."
It's a pity we'll have to wait a while before it can round the Top Gear track, but I wonder what laptime it will make in hands of The Stig. In theory, at least, it could beat some tough competitors there.
Oh. And Fifth Gear's Tiff Needell seems to be raving enthusiastic too, but to find out what he really thinks, we'll have to wait for tonight when Channel 5 will broadcast his IS-F-experience.
As mentioned below, it seems very likely Lexus will come up with a 'coupe-convertible' Lexus IS soon. And you bet there will be an IS-F-version of that car too.
In several mags and on even more websites pics of a prototype have appeared.
Question now is: when will the car hit the showrooms? 2009, 2010?
I wouldn't be surprised if it even was this year.

People who have visited my blog the last few months know I like a little speculation every now and then, so here we go again.
You will probably have heard the talks about a Lexus IS coupe, as they have been going on for years now. Rumors reached a peak when the Australians wrote an official press release, last summer, saying: "We are excited about some of the upcoming developments for the IS Line, including the V8-powered IS-F and potentially, an IS coupe in the future."
The last months it seems to be getting more and more plausible an IS-(F)-coupe will eventually become a 'coupe-cabriolet' with retractable steel roof. It doesn't need a lot of imagination to speculate that Lexus has been working on it for years. For the timing of it: it would be right to launch the car about now.
It seems BMW has waited to come out with their M3 sedan just after the IS-F (sedan) was launched in Europe. They priced it just a little cheaper so that the comparision would be made immediately. Pretty clever.
I'd say it would be bull's eye to come up with a twodoor IS-F now and price it a little under the Beamer.
naturally I have asked my sources at Lexus. They are all very much mysterious about a coupe, so I cannot garantue you guys anything.
Just watch this space.

You know every slightly out of he ordinary vehicle has its own register, club or fanbase. Therefore it would be unthinkable not to have an IS-F Owners Club. It's just a matter of time before Lexus IS-F-owners will stand up and form theirs.
As amatter of fact in the U.S.A. - where the car has been available for a couple of months now - there are a couple of owners that have a feel for a bit of IS-F-sharing yet. Last weekend, the kick-off for a come-together held place in Irvine, California, but due to 'crappy weather' turnout was not as good as expected with only two cars entering the car show.
One of the chaps that made it to the show writes "Anyway, we had fun and would really like to get a bigger turnout of IS-Fs to the show the next time we hit it. Please email and/or post if you're interested in making another showing at this show and we'll start planning it now. We were talking about starting up an IS-F club of some sort in the future... input would be appreciated. Anyone interested??"
If you are drop them a line here.
